The newly-redesigned Smokkr.com is now online! This is a new service that Hotbox is rolling out for the cannabis community to use with the goal of hopefully creating a cannabis community-specific news aggregator, meaning it'll be a one-stop shop for all your 420-related news. I see it as the first major step towards gelling together a lot of the North American cannabis communities with the aim of using activist media to help drive the quest for legalization.

What the hell is Smokkr, anyway? If you've ever used Digg, it functions quite similarly, with users of the site hitting the "Smokk" button for links they like and "roaching" bad articles or spam. Users can also submit their own links for the community to vote on, meaning it's a really good way to create awareness for activist groups. The project is being hosted and managed by Hotbox presently, but it's not a Hotbox project per se; we just really want to create good, functional tools for the community.
